The Cottage

If you are looking for places to stay in Berkeley Springs, WV, The Cottage at the Lane's End is the perfect alternative to a hotel for you. The Cottage is a berm style home with 2 bedrooms and two full baths (one shower, one tub-shower). The generously-sized kitchen opens to the main living area making it possible for cooking and socializing to be a family activity. The stone wood burning fireplace makes for a cozy atmosphere on cool fall nights (of course the central heat is sufficient). In the summer months the cottage can be kept cool with its central air conditioning.

We have a few books to keep you occupied and a couple of family oriented games including Trivial Pursuit (kiddo/adult combo version), Risk, Monopoly, Outburst, Uno, Quirkle and, of course, a deck of cards. Ask us, if you're interested, about a great kid-friendly card game called "Trash".

This is a non-smoking cottage but the areas outside by the fire pit and the deck off the upstairs bedroom is a great place to enjoy a good french-pressed coffee and a Portifino on a cool Fall morning. Make sure, though, that any flame is completely extinguished when finished.

The Lane's End, as its name would suggest, sits at the end of a very private lane and claims 5 acres of land as its own. The Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area makes up The Lane's End's back yard... and at 23,000 acres, that's one big backyard. Walk up the lane past the driveway and you could find yourself knee deep in nature after just a short walk. Read up a bit on the hiking page to see our suggestions.
